CtG - Week 17 - Drive Thru History

Here are a few highlights from our week...

Art
The kids have not been overly thrilled with what they have been learning in art, but it is going ok.

Bible
If you have the Drive Thru History Holy Lands Series, this week would be a great week to plug in Volume #2, Episode #1. It really helped my kids (and me) to piece together what we are learning in the past to what is going on in the present. I love that they get to see actual footage from the places we are learning about.

History
The kids really enjoyed playing the game of Senet. We just used 4 popsicle sticks and a few colored stones we had in a jar. For the popsicle sticks, we colored one side of them brown.

King Tutankhamen was also this week. Cue all sorts of funny noises coming from my kids...'Toot'nkhamen...hello?!? They also thought his burial mask looked girly.

Science
We completed the moon meteor science experiment. We had done something similar to this back when we studied Apologia Astronomy a few summers ago.

We are thoroughly enjoying Treasures of the Snow. We love these stories! My little brother, who is in public school now, was over one day when he had a holiday, but we didn't. He was able to sit in on a few of our lessons and our oral reading time. He said out of everything he missed about home school, he missed the stories the most :-D
